All work carried out bythe Children's Society is based on a fully robust research programme, a substantial practice base, together with nationwide campaigns and dedicated social policy work.

- Over 100,000 children under the age of 16 run away from home in the UK - Every year.
Their reasons may be different but any child on living on the streets many are forced into crime, drugs or prostitution in order to survive. - There is a sever lack of safe places to go for children living on the streets.
There are only 9 refuge beds in the entire country - that's less than one bed for every 10,000 children! - The Children's Society meet these children at their point of greatest need
By exploring and helping to understand the issues facing the runaway they can help find solutions. - Donatiosn help The Children's Society's project workers provide young runaways with the most basic of needs -
Things that most children take for granted such as food, shelter, understanding, protection and hope are provided to those who do not have access to them.
