If you are a child or young person looking for help please call ChildLine on 0800 1111

ChildLine is a service of the NSPCC and it gives vulnerable children a place to turn for help and advice when they feel they have no one to help them. Every day around 4,500 children call ChildLine, but lack of funds means that only 2,500 of them will get through - monthly or one off donations can help to fund more resources to answer these missed calls.

ChildLine relies on the kindness of people like you to help them continue their fantastic work helping children in need. A current lack of funding means :

  • Every day around 4,500 children call ChildLine. Unfortunately only 2,500 of those calls are currently getting answered. By donating to ChildLine you can help more children in danger get through to trained counsellors for comfort, advice and protection
  • Call waiting times can be up to 20 / 30 minutes which can be stressful and potentially fatal as having finally plucked up the courage to call, the children may not wish to call back.

ChildLine statistics :

  • Almost one in five of the calls received is about abuse
  • in 2007 ChildLine counselled almost 140,000 children and young people
  • The average cost to counsel a per child is £38
  • It costs £1,598 to recruit and train one volunteer counsellor

Every Little Helps to Protect Children

By donating to ChildLine you can help them to answer more calls and also provide even better ongoing support. The children at the other end of the line desparately need ChildLine's help and often have no one else to turn to. Without your donations they would have no one.
