Cancer Research Run 10K

The Cancer Research 10K Run is a national fundraising event to help raise vital funds in the fight to beat the deadly disease. Now in it's 8th year, participants of all sexes, age ranges and experience can get sponsored and take part at one of the 22 events dotted around the UK. Up to 50,000 supporters join in every year to help raise £5 million to help Cancer Research continue their groundbreaking work in preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer. You can enter online and set up a sponsorship page to take the stress out of your run. Plus with loads of fundraising tips and and training advice, the Cancer Research 10K Run is a great way to get fit whilst helping raise funds to aid the charities life saving work.

About Cancer Research UK Run 10K

Cancer Research UK's Run 10K first started in 2003 with just 3 events nationwide. Since it's conception 8 years ago, the race has grown enormously and now features 22 events with some 50,000 competitors. The Run 10K event invites both men and women of differing fitness levels to take part, whether you're a long distance runner or just doing it for fun, all are welcome. With loads of fundraising tips and an online sponsorship page, it's easy to take part in this fantastic event, which this year should raise up to £5 million to help Cancer Research's non stop battle to treat and prevent this deadly disease.

Where the money goes?

In 2007/08 alone, Cancer Research spent £333 million on life saving research projects, plus a further £11m million on cancer information and advocacy. Their research receives virtually no government funding and donations from supporters are crucial to continue the ongoing fight. With 4,500 scientists, doctors and nurses, Cancer Research's tireless efforts to prevent and beat this killer disease are only made possible with the help of your donations.
