For over 45 years Amnesty have campaigned for the release of people imprisoned solely for their peacefully held beliefs, to end torture and to protect our universal human rights. Human rights abuse is a worldwide issue with Amnesty reporting human rights violations in 153 countries in 2006.

Amnesty International Launch New Anti-Torture Film
Amnesty International has launched a gritty online short film which shows activists preventing a torture victim from any further abuse. The 90 second film, 'Defy Them', shows a person being 'waterboarded', the method of torture where a captive is held underwater whilst wearing a blindfold. This was said to be used in Guantánamo Bay to make the Al Queda prison's talk and is a truely horrific act.
