UNICEF UK‘s Soccer Aid event will now include two of the biggest footballing legends to ever grace the game. Manchester United superstar and UNICEF Ambassador Ryan Giggs and retired football superstar Zinedine Zidane will now be featuring in this year’s game, and what an event it’s set to be!

Soccer Aid kicks off on Sunday 6th June 2010 at Old Trafford and will be broadcast live on ITV1. All of the profits raised through ticket sales and viewer donations will go towards helping the UNICEF’s continued fight across the globe to help as many children as possible who are living in poverty. The annual event draws some of the world’s biggest stars from both the sporting world and showbiz, and is an amazing day out for spectators and participants alike.

This year will see celebrities such as Ronan Keating and Gordon Ramsay on the Rest of the World team doing battle against the likes of UNICEF childrens charity ambassador and Soccer Aid founder Robbie Williams and Alan Shearer. The game itself is played in a great spirit, though with that many ex pro’s playing there is still definitely a competitive edge! Soccer Aid is a fantastic way to help raise funds for children around the world, and with these two new signings just completed, this year’s event looks to be the UNICEF UK’s biggest one yet.
