Simon CowellWhat started off as simple sponsored bike ride for UNICEF UK turned into a whirlwind adventure for little Charlie Simpson! Charlie Simpson Just Giving

Charlie had initally hoped to raise around £500 by riding his bike around the local park, but as news of his valiant effort spread, so did the donations on his appeal site! Thousands of people flogged from across the UK to sponsor him, including some very special supporters. As TV stations got wind of the story, so did a few famous faces including Simon Cowell, who donated £5,000, and even the Prime Minister Gordon Brown got in on the act.

We cannot believe what he has managed to do. It just took off. What started off as a little cycle round the park with his dad has turned into something a lot bigger than that and we can’t believe it. He’s done really well. He’s worked hard and he’s raised a phenomenal amount of money. He really felt strongly about this and thought that something had to be done. It was great to see him so motivated. I am extremely proud of our Charlie.

This truly heart warming story just goes to show you that in times of need, people really can pull together, even if it does take a 7 year old to show us the way!
