WWF See New compromise on Whaling is a Step Backwards

WWF charity officals feel that the international community should reject the latest deal proposed by the International Whaling Commission (IWC). Although the new compromise features a great deal of positive action, it appears that it may also potentially legitimise ‘scientific’ whaling by Japan in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary.

NSPCC EduCare Programme Hits Landmark Numbers

The NSPCC charity has trained nearly 250,000 people in the last decade for a wide assortment of societies to spot and report child safety concerns. With 11 Educare child protection training programmes available, the NSPCC provides training in basic Child Protection Awareness, Keeping Children Safe in Sport, Preventing Bullying Behaviour and Safer Recruitment and Selection.

British Red Cross Report from Haiti – One Month On

The British Red Cross is still holding it down on the frontline in Haiti as the dreaded rainy season begins to kick in across the country. A full month after the tragedy unfolded, more than 20 British Red Cross representatives are now in Haiti to helping deliver aid and provide much needed shelter, sanitation and other vital services during this difficult time. With more than 500 workers from 22 countries deployed by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the Haiti relief effort is in full swing but there is still so much to do.
