Last year, the Government put housing at the top of its agenda with the promise to build 3 million more homes by 2020, some of them social rented. Shelter and their supporters, were key to this success.

In particular, the Minister must prioritise building the social rented housing that is necessary to provide decent, affordable and permanent homes for those who need them most.Without this, families stuck in run-down, overcrowded or temporary housing could still be suffering in ten years time.
