How to use the Donation4Charity blog news feed
Donation4Charity's blog news feed provides you with the best way to keep updated with news from the site without the need to check in daily. The RSS news feed has been developed to enable you to have the latest charity news stories sent direct to your RSS news feeders. They automatically update as stories are added across the network, flagging up what's new as it breaks.
Details of what RSS is, and how you can get an RSS reader, are below. Click on the web feed image below to view the xml file.
What is RSS?
RSS is short for Really Simple Syndication. It's an XML file that can be read by special feed reading software or a web service you can use from your web browser. Put the address of one of our web feeds into your reader, and it will display the latest headlines, each one with a synopsis and link that will take you to the full story.
That means you can stay in touch with many different sources of news and information. It's quicker than revisiting a site several times a day to check for updates, and rather than having to look for new headlines, feed readers scan for updates and display them for you.
How to use RSS feeds? To view our web feeds you need software called a feed reader or aggregator. Feed readers you could try include:
For PC users
SharpeReader
For Mac users
NetNewsWire
Windows/Mac/Linux
Amphetadesk
Works in your web browser.
BlogLines
Once you have installed a feed reader you can add the Donation4Charity news feed by clicking on the web feed links above.
Setting up a feed differs from one aggregator to another, but it usually involves copying the URL of the feed (from the address bar on your browser) and pasting it into the reader.
